ROV: 1. Design

NB: This article will be updated until the end of this project.

The design has been updated since the first intro post. I first wanted to do a Seafox design but it changed because the Seafox did not have the space i needed for the hull. This design is more of a “realistic” ROV  design so I’m going for this! 🙂

As you can see I’ll be using a more “open” frame with a WTC made of a steel pipe 110mm and 5mm thick walls. At the end there will be welded inn a endcap and in the front there will also be welded on a endcap with a 110mm hole to match the pipe.

As you can see I’ll be having a see trough plate in the middle (after a while I’ll swap it with a dome as the picture states. Just want to test it flat first). Adding another plate as a “washer” onto that and using simple wing nuts to tighten it down. Between the pipe’s flange and the glass I’ll put a gasket (for sealing) cut out to match the area.
